María Simón was born in Valladolid, Spain, in 1988.
Her interest in photography was encouraged by her father, an amateur photographer, from who she inherited a couple of old cameras and his way of seeing the world through the lens.
In 2009, she bought her first DSLR camera, Nikon D60, which she still uses for her pictures. She has studied lighting, capture and image processing at I.E.S Vega del Prado in Valladolid, from 2013 to 2015.
She started collecting figures becoming them in the leitmotiv of the most of the shots that she takes two years ago. Her work is mostly about still life photography, mainly toys and miniature figures.
She did an internship in two companies:
Miguel Ángel Photographer in Valladolid, I was carrying out the edition of his photographic sessions of weddings and communions.
Figuya GmbH in Berlin, where I was designing diorama and light set up of the pictures, photo capture, edition, and retouch of the figures they have on their store online in stock.
