As the Producer, Director and Editor of this music video, I worked alongside artist Jordan Reyne (musician) as we nutted out the conceptual basis of this project to create a video that would authentically illustrate the dark character of this song.
‘The Proximity of Death (Blue Eyed Boy) ’ is the first single off artist Jordan Reyne’s album ‘How The Death Live’. It is a tale told in folk-noir style, inspired by the story of one of New Zealand’s first pioneer women, Susannah Hawes. The song follows a (fictive) dialogue between Susannah and History herself in the lonely west coast town of Karamea.
